QIPC-EAE acquires 3TControl Precision Systems to strenghten print automation leadership

Oosterhout, May 2024  -  QIPC-EAE B.V., a global leader in innovative print automation solutions, is pleased to announce the acquisition of 3TControl Precision Systems (3TControl), a Spanish company specialising in closed-loop colour register and density control systems. This acquisition represents a 100% share purchase deal, marking a significant milestone in QIPC-EAE's strategic growth and market consolidation efforts.

Strategic consolidation in a challenging market
This acquisition highlights QIPC-EAE's ongoing dedication to innovation and efficiency in the print industry, promising enhanced service and expanded capabilities for customers worldwide. Menno Jansen, Chairman of QIPC-EAE, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition: "In a contracting newspaper market, it is crucial to look for ways to consolidate and enhance efficiency. With the integration of the 3TControl team into the QIPC-EAE group, we can offer improved services to our customers. I am particularly pleased to welcome 3TControl to our team."

Enhanced product portfolio and market reach
With a strong focus on innovation and customer service, QIPC-EAE offers a range of products designed to optimise print quality and production efficiency. Menno Jansen continues: “This acquisition allows QIPC-EAE to expand its product portfolio by adding a "mark-based" system to its offerings, which is particularly suitable for certain emerging markets.” Unlike QIPC-EAE's existing systems that use TIFF files to measure density from the image, 3TControl utilises a "cloud of dots" approach, eliminating the need for a complex workflow.

Kurt Übelher, Chief Executive Officer of HKMB, commenting: “The transfer of 3TControl to QIPC-EAE is a consequence of the divestment process within our group to further focus on its core business of publishing and printing newspapers and related services. After many years of involvement and development, I am pleased that with this transfer we were able to ensure the continuation of the company with its brand to serve and support our existing customer base and develop it towards the future, respectively.”

Perfect alignment of missions
3TControl’s mission is to design and deliver premium print process control products for the newspaper industry with the highest quality vision systems and with new innovations that offer added value and faster ROI. This mission aligns perfectly with QIPC-EAE's commitment to delivering state-of-the-art automation solutions that enhance print quality and operational efficiency. The integration of 3TControl into QIPC-EAE ensures a seamless continuation of this mission, further strengthening QIPC-EAE’s position as a leader in the print automation industry.
